A lovely Christmas Window painted my Grandma Kacky
Yes, I'm catching up on posts (how did you know!?)!!! That means I'm fairly tuckered out as this is my third post tonight, but I don't want to put it off any longer! Christmas has came and went and it was a blast. The season began for us with Maeve and Graham's first real train ride (I'm not counting the zoo train here)!!! We rode the Holiday Express and when Graham realized it was a STEAM engine his delight skyrocketed. The train ride was also their first time sitting on Santa's lap! It went loads better than I could have ever expected. After the train ride we exchanged gifts with K and M then hurried home for a Lotspeich Brothers Christmas at our place (THANK YOU Lotspeich Bros for coming our way!!!).Maeve really wanted to destroy
something on the train- preferably
the garland, of course... below you
can see the aftermath of her first
candy cane. Thanks for taking one
for the team, Brent!

Heading into Christmas weekend, we spent a lovely night at my dad's place (always the highlight of Christmas for Graham) eating my step mom's amazing and delicious food (seriously she could come live with me except I can't afford to gain that much weight!), visiting, and keeping Maeve from pulling off ornaments or dying by falling down the stairs. The next day was packed with two family Christmases in one day (Gillihans and Settles both) and you'd think after all of that my side of the family would be taken care of, but it wasn't. We spent BOTH Christmas Eve with my mom (at her place) and Christmas morning with my mom (at our place!). Graham can never get enough of his Grandma Kacky!
Graham threatens to become a steam punk
kid over chocolate cake at Grandma Kacky's.
What's this!? A Christmas Miracle!? G and M use the
shopping cart (a present from my dad and step mom) TOGETHER.
Santa did NOT disappoint come Christmas morning at our place. That lovely green kitchen is Maeve's area (closer pic below). The airport is Graham's area (again, closer pic below, stocking for Brent and myself are on the orange couch, and the stuff on the futon? Well Santa knew Grandma Kacky and Diamond would be spending their morning with us so he left their presents at our place.
All in all, it was a pretty great Christmas/Winter Break for us. We look forward to adding more activities each year (next year we may try the Polar Express with at least Graham and his buddy M even if Maeve isn't interested!). Above you can see how Maeve felt about her Christmas (that's her new camera face).
