Gingerbread House

Last year G made a Graham cracker house with Allie but this year I wanted to do Gingerbread with him. We started the tradition of Christmas Light viewing last year so the Gingerbread house seemed like the next step. However, I kept putting it off until finally I just bought a premade, though not built, one from the store for 7 bucks. We pulled it out last Wednesday before Brent's family arrived to exchange gifts. I forgot to take any pictures Of the process (the house wasn't exactly architecturally sound so my hands were a tad busy). Allie and I built it and G slathered it in candy with the help of his cousins, LLL and CDL.

Here you can see the roof sliding off. Please note that the Snowman has been beheaded. G did not eat the head, just broke it off. I'm not sure where it is in the picture but the icing on his body was meant to glue the head back on. The roof got loaded with most of the candy.

So far the house is pretty intact. None of us are big gingerbread fans, apparently. Next year maybe we will just do rolled cookies...
