Graham has adjusted better than I could ever have hoped for to his sister joining our worlds. He readily includes her in his emerging pretend play as you see above. I don't know what is happening but this is his own personal doing.
When she cries he likes to have a chance to comfort her. He often goes for the binky despite the fact that, just like him, she has zero interest in the blasted thing. Picking her up (which we discourage, of course), giving her one of her toys, and giving her one of his toys are also methods he uses. When she cries he often runs to wherever she is, exclaiming "Baby! Mae!" He doesn't have the "v" sound yet, bit it's clearly her name.
Maeve seems to feel likewise about her brother. She gazes at him with adoration and often cranes her neck to search him out. She is not what I would call a happy baby, but being near her brother occasionally grants me some relief!
Now I will end with pictures of relaxed, blissful sleep. Small reminders that it is possible after all! Thanks for reading!
